My name is Matthew Moore, and I am a 25 year old married man living in McKinney Texas. My experience with the violin has been quite diverse over the 15 years of which I have been studying the instrument. I have performed with numerous groups and orchestras, and have also taught in many different styles and forums. I graduated from Miami University with a bachelors in violin performance, and have since taught locally in the McKinney area.
Last year I had the privilege of teaching within the McKinney middle schools as an on site private instructor. Since then I have been working on building my private studio with students of all ages.
My focus in teaching violin is to enable my students to better teach themselves. By doing this I find students are able to gain a level of independence and technical awareness that would otherwise be impossible. I cater my style of teaching for each individual, and have had a wide array of experience teaching all ages and skill levels. In lessons, I make every effort to foster an appreciation for not only the beauty in sound of the violin, but also the historical roots and musical theory inherent in the music we perform.
